The 15th ANNUAL TIGER & POCKET JILL AND GIS Conference held December 2005 drew hundreds of users from all over the nation to view the newest software for management, food safety, pesticide reporting, record keeping, recommendation and billing. The type of attendees varied greatly, from food processors, large and small growers and shippers, pest control advisors, to applicators and retailers.

Dr. Shlomo Pleban demo the new PET Tiger (Payroll Employee Tracking) System with bar code scanning and RFID to track employee id numbers, Time & out, tasks performed, Harvest, as well as other employee information accumulated in the field.

Sara Savary's presentation "A day in a life of a PCA" implementation and use of Tiger & Pocket Jill at Crop Care. Sara Savary fills many several different roles at Crop Care Associates, Inc., consulting in the fields of pest, irrigation and fertility management while running the company's Human Resources function as Vice President. Sara has been with Crop Care Assoicates, Inc. for thirteen years, and has advanced through the ranks of field and regional management positions consulting throughout California. Sara Presentation Focus Points were the measurement module with diary information as well as images taken in the field that becomes part of the permanent record. Use Pocket Jill to include maps as well as photos taken in the field.

Leslie Galvin Of Orange gave a Presentation on new development in the Billing & Inventory modules as well as on Crop estimates – within the measurement module – new options that allows recording of physical field visits that can be translated to crop estimates.

Doane Marketing Research, Inc. and Orange Enterrprises, Inc. have embarked in a joint effort to develop a new Web Services module for the Tiger Jill software package. This new module, the DMR Module, is intended to ease electronic data collection of specialty crop information from TigerJill users for integration and use in combiling the information contained in DoaneMR’s AgroTrak™ data.

Alon Yaari a senior Project Manager at Vestra Resources presented the Tiger Jill GIS Analyst. GIS & GPS with Tiger and Pocket Jill provides the ability to create shape files that can be interfaced with GIS systems, calculates acreage of a field or designated area, and provides the coordinates of where measurements are recorded

Kishore of Orange presented the new PDA program for supporting the UC Davis project “Dairy Nutrient Management and Monitoring Incentive Program”. The PDA programs reads data from a Data-logger on water flow as well as receive manual input.
Orange build .NET true object-oriented software. Microsoft® .NET is a set of software technologies for connecting information, people, systems, and devices. This new generation of technology is based on Web Service a small building block of applications that can connect to each other as well as to other, larger applications over the internet. We have also been working on incorporating RFID, Blue Tooth, Wi/Fi, bar code scanners and .xml technology.

Tiger Jill integrates scouting and analysis data from the field. The ability to see several years' worth of information for a particular ranch or block will make for more effective planning and decision-making. Tiger. Web & Pocket Jill own data base & connectivity features makes information available where it's needed.
