3. Adding a Crop Record ".Open" which can be used for application on block whose crop is not known yet. The use of ".Open" allows the user to change the crop name in the block's season grid when the crop is planted. Before this change the user was not allowed to change the crop name in the Block's Season grid if there applications in that season. The procedure is therefore as follows: the user adds a new season in the block. The first date is the first date of applications that belong to the new unknown yet crop. The crop that is entered is ".Open". Material applications are entered and the crop in the application screen is ".Open". When a specific crop is planted, the user changes the crop name in the Block's season to the name of the planted crop. This change does not affect the crop name in the existing applications, it remains ".Open". All future applications to the block are to the new crop name and checks are done against the new crop name.

1. Pocket JILL (TIGER JILL for Handheld Devices.) This is a new program that runs on handheld devices that use Windows CE. The data is entered in the field and then uploaded in the office to a desktop computer. The data can include pesticide application, soil, crop, cultural activity, trap counts, irrigation events, and other variables via the handheld device.
