PET Tiger
Data collection software and hardware designed specifically for agricultural use?
The PET Tiger system was designed and tested on a working farm over a period of several years, beginning in 2004. Since that time, it has collected hundreds of thousands of individual records detailing the hours/pieces worked by employees, and has dramatically improved the process of identifying and correcting errors and creating accurate payroll transfer records for those employees

Track data for unlimited number of companies or "groups"...
PET Tiger allows you to create separate companies, each with their own unique name, to track employees and work detail records for an unlimited number of logical operations. You might create one company for your picking operation, one for your packing operation, and one for each of several contractors responsible for supplying you with workers. Data can be collected on any available handheld the PET Tiger desktop program will separate the companies when you transfer the data from the handheld computers.
Optionally create picture ID cards for each employee...

You have the option of creating hard plastic, bar-coded employee ID cards using a standard computer-connected camera and an ID card printer. This gives you a permanent, weatherproof method of scanning employees into the handheld computers and time clocks.
You also have the option of printing the employee ID cards on plain paper or labels, or printing a simplified barcode label for each employee. This gives you a more economical method of identifying each worker. You can also create books for your supervisors to click employees to their jobs from a remote location.
Collect hours/pieces worked in the field on state-of-the-art handheld computers...

Simply scan the barcode for the job ID being collected (clock in, clock out, single unit piece work, or multi-unit piece work) and scan the barcode on each employee's ID card...you can easily collect a hundred employees in a minute! The handheld computer displays most messages in English and Spanish.
Optionally collect up to 3 items on each record in addition to job ID. Each item can be customized to meet your needs, allowing you to collect items such as "farm" and "field" for later reporting. Also new in this version is the Work History Report, which allows you to analyze previously collected data by job and/or any of the 3 optional items. PET Tiger now retains data indefinitely, so you have the option of retaining data from past years (preferably in a different company) for access in the Work History Report.
Mobile PET Tiger uses handheld computers from Symbol Technologies, Inc., a leader in the mobile computing industry. The Motorola MC70 models are rugged for use in the field...we've dropped and abused them enough to prove it. Your data is protected by a powerful lithium battery that lasts for hours and recharges quickly. Each handheld is capable of safely storing thousands of individual work records.

Optionally collect hours worked using electronic time clock or handheld computer...
You have the option of allowing some employees to scan their ID cards into an electronic time clock. PET Tiger connects to the time clock, downloads the hourly data, and merges it with data from the handheld computers.
You also have the option of using any available handheld computer in time clock mode rather than purchasing a separate electronic time clock. In this mode, the handheld computer collects only clock-in and clock-out records.

Assemble data on office computer(s), check for errors, and create a transfer file for your payroll accounting system...
Use a standard computer running Microsoft Windows (XP through Vista) to collect the data from the handheld computers and time clocks in the PET Tiger desktop program. Run many report to consolidate the individual entries by job ID, identify and correct any errors, add/edit/delete entries as needed, and create the final transfer file for import into any accounting system that accepts the file. We currently support exporting timesheet information to the Famous, DataTech, QuickBooks as well as many other accounting systems.
